2 servings (cooked 1 cup servings): 1/2 cup rice; 1-1/3 cup water. 4 servings (cooked 1 cup servings): 1 cup rice; 2-1/4 cup water. 6 servings (cooked 1 cup servings): 1-1/2 cup rice; 3-1/3 cup water. 8 servings (cooked 1 cup servings): 2 cup rice; 4-1/4 cup water. salt and oil optional. stove top directions: 1. combine rice and water in a saucepan. add oil or margarine and salt if desired. 2. stir and bring to a boil; lower heat to simmer. 3. cover with a tight-fitting lid and simmer for 25 minutes or until all water is absorbed. remove from heat and allow to stand covered 5 minutes. fluff with fork. microwave directions: 1. combine rice and boiling water in a microwave-safe container. add oil or margarine and salt if desired. 2. stir and cover. cook on medium (50%) power for 20-25 minutes. 3. remove from microwave and let stand covered 5 minutes. fluff with fork. cooking tips: to retain vitamins do not rinse before or drain after cooking. steam cooks rice; do not lift lid while cooking. for firmer rice, use less water and simmer a shorter time. for softer rice, use more water and simmer a longer time.
