For the better guarantee of product authenticity of this aromatic bitters the label on every bottle bears the facsimile of the signature of Dr. J.G.B. Siegert. The brand name under which Dr. J.G.B. Siegert and his successors have sold their product throughout the world since 1830. It does not contain Angostura Bark but derives its name from the fact that it originated in the town of Angostura, Venezuela, renamed Ciudad Bolivar in 1846.This aromatic bitters was first made in 1824 and may be distinguished from all other aromatic bitters by its fine flavor and aromatic odor. These bitters has become famous throughout the world and has received the highest recognition at the principal International Exhibitions. Because of its delightful flavor and aroma it has become extremely popular for use in soft drinks, cocktails and other alcoholic beverages. It also imparts an exquisite flavor to soups, salads, vegetables, gravies, fish, meat, fruit-juices, jellies, sherbets, ice-cream, and all similar desserts, regulating the quantity according to taste. Ingredients: Alcohol, Water, Sugar, Gentian, Natural Flavorings, Caramel Color and Added Colors.
Fruits: for cooked or canned fruits add 2-3 dashes angostura or flavor to taste. salads: blend 2 or 3 dashes angostura with each cup of mayonnaise, french or other dressing. pies: add 4 or 5 dashes per cup of mince meat or pumpkin filling. 1 or 2 dashes to apple or other fruit. soups: add 1 or 2 dashes angostura to each serving of canned or frozen soups, fish, chowder, bisques and chicken soups. stir in at last minute.
