The botanicals are steeped in water and alcohol, aged in oak barrels for one year, then mixed with sugar and additional alcohol. The robust 70 proof liqueur is often enjoyed as a chilled shot, but can also be savored in cocktails such as the Jäger Tonic, complemented with tonic water, citrus zest, and ice.
