La Gritona Reposado is a 100% blue agave tequila distilled in Valle de Guadalupe, Jalisco, Mexico. It is produced from mature agave grown in the region's distinctive red soil, which is harvested for its peak sugar content and promptly baked within 24 hours. The agave is cooked in traditional earthen ovens, rested, and then crushed. Natural fermentation is influenced by ambient air temperatures, followed by double distillation. The tequila is aged for 8 months in reused American whiskey barrels, then filtered and bottled. The production facility operates with a dedicated local staff managing each step. Leftover agave remnants are repurposed as cattle feed for local farmers. Bottles are handcrafted using recycled glass from Tlaquepaque, near Guadalajara. Each batch yields approximately 12,500 liters.
