Veuve Clicquot Brut Rosé Vintage Champagne 2004 is characterized by a blend in which Pinot Noir is the dominant grape variety, contributing strength, complexity, and elegance to the champagne. Pinot Noir accounts for 51% of the blend, sourced from Grands and Premiers Crus in the notable regions of Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne. The cuvée is rounded out with 15% Meunier from the same regions, adding a smooth quality to the profile. Unique to this vintage, 11% of the wines have been aged in large oak casks, providing a robust and aromatic intensity. Additionally, the blend includes 13% red still wine from Pinot Noir grapes grown in Bouzy, which imparts structure and a signature character to the champagne. Despite the challenging weather conditions in the region during the growing season, which included heavy rainfall, frost, and hailstorms, followed by a sun-filled summer, the 2004 vintage emerged with optimal quality and promising aging potential.
