Named after the German town of Kötbuss, southeast of Berlin, the Köttbusser is a lagered honey wheat ale with a golden hue, subtle spice complexity and a dry finish similar to an Altbeer. In 1877, the introduction of Germany’s Reinheitsgebot beer purity law restricted the definition of beer to include only barley, hops, and water, this beer style became illegal to brew commercially due to its use of wheat, honey and molasses and thus the beer fell into obscurity.

1 X 473ml | 5.6% ABV A smooth, unfiltered pale ale made with German malts and hops. A more malt forward beer than a typical West Coast IPA, its hoppy aroma and flavor have notes of tangerine, citrus and spice.

1 x 473ml | 3.0% ABV Clean and refreshing sunny blond ale, based on a specifically brewed Pilsner, with a sweet and pleasantly tart blend of citrus juices, including orange and grapefruit.

1 x 473ml | 3.25% ABV Silky smooth, unpretentious, session strength ale with notes of toasted hazelnuts, chocolate and coffee. The quintessential English session beer, a Mild is known for its low level of hop character and alcohol content.

A medium bodied malt focused beer with initial sweetness balanced with subtle toasted grain and caramel notes which finishes with a roasted dryness and slight hop bitterness. One of our core pours, Redhanded is a very traditional recipe without the hop bitterness often added to the style by North American brewers.

A smooth and rich Peanut Butter Milkstout named after Marcellus Gilmore Edson, the originator of peanut butter as we know it today. A Canadian, he devised it in 1884, as a delicious and nutritious foodstuff for people who were unable to chew solid food. Along with creamy roast peanut are warm notes of chocolate, making this beer a comforting treat on winter days.

This is very much in the Irish style with no added flavourings or lactose. Traditionally the X denoted alcoholic strength, ranging from a single X to a triple!
