Founded by one of the most notable chocolatiers in the world, Jonathan Grahm was only 24 years old when he bought Compartes, a chocolate shop founded in 1950. Since then, Jonathan has gone on to open 7 shops in Tokyo, and two locations in Los Angeles - a colorful flagship store in Century City that resembles a modern day Willy Wonka factory, and the other in renowned fashion street Melrose Place.

Across the board, Compartes chocolates are both art and dessert. Their hip and stunning visuals have earned a worldwide reputation and impressive Instagram following. And by stunning visuals, we mean they’re literally eye-candy. We’re talkin’ chocolates studded with natural strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries, and truffles adorned with palm tree graphics and animal prints. The out-of-this-world packaging is also an ode to L.A., channeling Jonathan’s upbringing and experiences in the city.

Exhibit A: In “California Love” we find an homage to Los Angeles sunsets and palm trees, while “Lavender Violet” features a whimsical design inspired by fresh lavender flowers.
