Atlanta: 5 must-try restaurants this month

April 16, 2019  /  United States  /  Atlanta  /  On the Menu

So you missed spring break. No sweat! Our newest Atlanta Uber Eats partners can bring the flavors of Korea, China, Japan, and Italy right to your door. So are you Team Poke or Team Pizza? We’re calling it a draw and scoring one of each.

URBAN Wu Chinese Cuisine

  • “I’d give them 6 stars if it was possible. Pair Asian flavors with healthy cooking and quality products…BINGO!”
  • “Fantastic food just like what I had in southern China.”
  • “I’m a tough critic and they never disappoint.”

If those fan raves of this new Chinese restaurant don’t win you over, the wide-ranging menu sure will. With 107(!) food choices, you’re pretty much guaranteed to find something that fits your protein preferences, desired spice level, and dietary needs. Start with an A6 (soup dumplings), then try a chef’s specialty item, like T14 (duck cooked with beer and broad bean paste). Or if you’re feeling adventurous, go with the C1 “Hot and Numbing Combination,” a combo of fish, shrimp, beef, chicken, veggies and noodles in a spicy hot broth with peppercorns and chili peppers.

AZN Sandwich Bar

“A quick-service restaurant that offers healthy options but really thrills a foodie’s curiosity and taste buds,” is what AZN promises. If you’re just feeling peckish, snack on a couple Lite Bites (kimchi slaw, papaya salad, and wonton soup are among the options) or a Gwa Bao (steamed bun). For a full meal, check out AZN’s Soul Style section that features hearty yet healthy bowls of tofu, chicken, or beef with a boatload of veggies. We can’t quit the Californian (sweet garlic tofu, leafy greens, chives, carrots, cucumbers, and avocado).

Boba Theory

If a drink’s what you desire, this popular Asian-inspired cafe has you covered. Milk tea is what Boba Theory is known for (and all of those, from matcha to Oreo are excellent), but their beverage program has so much more. Perk up your morning with a Cafe Latte, fuel up with a Lychee Smoothie come snacktime, then treat yourself to a Peach Slushie after dinner. Or, you know, any time, because fruit is always a good idea!

Poke Bar

“This is how we bowl” is the slogan of this fresh fast-casual restaurant that combines sushi-grade fish with California spirit by way of Hawaiian poke—right here in Atlanta. (Whew!) Flex your creativity and build-your-own small, medium, or large poke bowl, or delegate the decision and score one of their signature bowls. Like spice? Try the Firecracker, made with spicy tuna, spicy mayo, wasabi, and more. If antioxidants are what you’re after, the Kale Noodle Sensation (kale, shrimp, spicy tuna, edamame, cucumber salad, and more) will definitely than fit the bill.

Crazy Dough’s Pizza

This artisan pizza mini franchise, open since 1999, claims that its homemade grilled dough is so delicious you might want to eat your slice backwards. We can verify. Whichever side you start with, crust or point, you won’t want to miss the Crazy Buffalo Gourmet Pizza (banana peppers, Buffalo chicken, buttermilk ranch, crazy Buffalo sauce, cheese, and scallions) or the Smokehouse Gourmet Pizza (16-hour smoked pulled pork, roasted red pepper, tangy barbecue sauce, cheese, and scallions). Then end your pizza party on a sweet note with a Gelato Shake or Gelato Cookie Sandwich.
