"I wanted to have my Vietnamese boyfriend and sister taste something from home, so we’ve decided to order an ensaladang talong, kare kare, and a pancit palabok. \nThe ensaladang talong was nice, its been a while since I last had ensaladang talong. We usually have it with shrimp paste, but having it with a vinaigrette was something nice to balance out the fattiness and creaminess from the kare kare.\n Ive been craving jollibee so i decided to give the palabok a try. The palabok was, i think, malabon style, since they used thick noodles. The flavour was nice, although missing that smokiness from the tinapa and a few green garnishes. Good stuff but not the best.\nThe kare kare was perfect, paired with the shrimp paste that came along w it, balancing with a sweet and salty touch. Pork belly was crunchy, slightly fatty, and heaps of peanut sauce, perfect to smother on some hot garlic rice. Me, my boyfriend and his sister liked it a lot, we had a food comma afterwards. \nServings for each item was enough for 3 people (we don’t eat a lot so it was alright for us)."
"Pancit is always the go to for birthday celebrations. And the pork at deduced price was a bonus. I got to celebrate like home though i am here alone"
